General Chemistry 2

General Chemistry 2The proper definition of General Chemistry is a basic science, which is sometimes regarded as the basis for biology and other branches of science. For instance, General Chemistry focuses on the study of matter, substance, physical, chemical, and biological properties of natural substances that can be used in chemical reactions. Many of the important elements of Chemistry are metalloids such as hydrogen, carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, sulphur, nitrogen, and phosphorus. They are very important in the course of chemistry since they aid in the chemical reactions that occur within the body. One of the many functions of General Chemistry is to help us understand how different substances react with each other, what types of reactions occur, and what chemicals and compounds will create the best results when applied to the equation. This study is used in many places throughout the world. While there are dozens of institutions that specialize in this area, only a few may actually give a degree program in General Chemistry. For instance, Western Illinois University offers a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. This type of degree program, called a regular lab course, typically starts with a semester of lecture, laboratory work, lab report, and an internship. This program can have two or more years for completion and usually requires two years of full-time enrollment in the regular course of study. On the other hand, there are a few other schools that offer a physical chemistry program that can be completed in three years. This may take an individual or group of students who are working toward a degree in Chemical Engineering to complete.A general chemistry degree has several benefits for a person who wants to enter into a career in the field of chemistry. In many cases, working in this field means a career in pharmaceuticals. But it can also mean an opportunity to study how the human body functions and how to increase the efficiency in this process. In today's worl d, many people want to get a degree in this field because they can do many different types of jobs like become an analytical chemist, biochemist, or research scientist. Sometimes they will combine their knowledge of chemistry with medical diagnostics to give them a chance to treat illness. Those who wish to become a doctor will also want to complete a chemistry degree program to prepare themselves for this work.Depending on your goal, a General Chemistry degree program can open up many opportunities for you to get an excellent education in this field. However, if you are looking for a college or university where you can finish a degree program, it would be in your best interest to contact these institutions to see what they offer.

What to Consider Before Taking a Summer Internship

What to Consider Before Taking a Summer Internship San Diego College Tutor Tips: 5 things to think about before taking a summer internship Completing an internship over the summer is one of the best things a college student can do to secure a full-time position in their field upon graduation. Internships offer students the opportunity to business network and learn what a typical day on the job would be like. There are lots of internships available to students in every field, but one size does not fit all. Completing an internship can last anywhere from two weeks to three months for a summer session, some are paid while others provide only college credit, some are very useful, and others may not lead to much more than a line on the resume. There are some things college students should think about before lining up an internship, so they make sure they find the right fit. 1.     How long do you want your internship to be? Some students want to get just a little bit of experience or want to dabble in a few different fields before declaring a major. If this is the case, a two or three-week internship might be the best opportunity. Students wont have to commit an entire summer to one company, and they’ll still have time to take a summer course or maintain a part-time paid job. On the other hand, some internships pay students for their time and provide a more in-depth look at one specific field or career. These internships could be two or three months long and end up being the student’s sole commitment over the summer. Students should think about what their priorities are before making up their mind (READ: 7 Tips for Studying While Traveling). 2.     Can you get credit towards graduation? Its essential for college students to receive credit towards graduation; in fact, most internships require students to arrange for credit instead of being paid. However, earning elective credits is not the same as receiving credit in one field that helps the student get closer to graduation. Students should talk with an academic or career advisor on campus to make sure the internship is right for them based on their academic and career goals. 3.     How useful are the business networking opportunities? One of the primary benefits of a summer internship is the opportunity to business network with professionals in the field. Some internships provide tons of networking opportunities while others dont get students much closer to a job contract. Internships aren’t going to advertise their pitfalls, so its important for students to do a lot of research ahead of time including talking to upperclassmen in their major field of study to get some personalized advice. 4.     Are there any expenses or travel required? Most companies offering internships understand that students are working on a strict budget and that they may not even have their transportation over the summer. However, other positions require interns to incur a certain number of expenses or even pay for their travel. Students should think about the feasibility of any particular position to see if they can afford it and if their commitment will pay off in the end. 5.     What specifically do you want to get out of your internship? The most important thing for students to ask themselves is what, in particular, they want to get out of the internship at the end of the summer. Do they want to determine if a career field is right for them? Do they need to earn extra money? Do they want an introduction to a company theyve always dreamed of working for? Students are encouraged to make a list of questions they can discuss with their academic advisor or even ask during an interview. Planning ahead is the best way to make sure students can find the right fit when it comes to looking for an internship. Our private San Diego college tutors are full of great internship tips . Google VOX Translator Voice Box Announced

Google VOX Translator Voice Box Announced Reuters Google Inc. of Palo Alto, CA has unveiled plans for a new invention at South By Southwest Music and Arts Festival.  Called Google VOX, the device will be able to translate languages in real time, eliminating the need for interpreters completely. Sarah Newtown, a Swedish interpreter for the United Nations was skeptical about the device, You cannot replace a human being with an automated system, there are too many contextual references that a computer will not be able to decode or interpret.  I dont think anyone in the interpretation community views this as a serious threat. Google Scientists are also determining the possibility of matching the sounds of animals to feelings, allowing your dogs and cats to talk to you through a limited vocabulary.  In theory, the device would yell HUNGRY if the dogs pitch matched that of the sound it makes when it is hungry, and it would also yell Outside!  if the dog wanted to use the bathroom. Google has not given a projected release date. Edit: April Fools. Studying Abroad this Summer 6 Things to do Now

Studying Abroad this Summer 6 Things to do Now 6 Things to do Now to Prepare for Your Summer Study Abroad 6 Things to do Now to Prepare for Your Summer Study Abroad Students who are preparing for an international experience this summer should consider preparing now. The first study abroad experience can either be exciting, overwhelming, or both. However, the more willing a student is for their international living situation, the more likely they are to have a great time and be able to smooth over any unexpected situations that present themselves. Students are encouraged to create a checklist starting in the spring so that they make sure they are able to finish all of the necessary tasks within the appropriate time frame so they can just enjoy living abroad and focus on the academics or language instruction they will receive. 1. Passports and documents The first thing study abroad students should think about is making sure all of their documents, especially their passport are in order. Students may also need alternate forms of ID such as a drivers license or state ID card, a visa to study or live in a particular country, health and immunization records, and anything thats required by the school to support academic study. 2. Travel and living arrangements Travel and living arrangements should be made well in advance of a students departure date. If possible, its usually best for students to live on campus at their host school or surrounded by other students from their home university. Students generally feel most comfortable abroad if they are in a familiar company. However, temporary accommodation can book up fast so its important to have this arranged ahead of time. Additionally, if students will be traveling on the same flight as their classmates, its important that they make sure there are enough seats available for everybody (READ: 7 Tips for Studying While Traveling). 3. The local language International students will also want to familiarize themselves with the local language. In some cases, students will be going to a country to become conversational or perhaps fluent in a second language and will already be focused on their communication skills. On the other hand, some students will only want an international experience while getting a few summer credits towards graduation. All student travelers should make sure they have a few basic greetings and emergency phrases memorized in case they get separated from their group or have an emergency. 4. Friends and classmates Its also a good idea to go ahead and get in touch with any current classmates who might become good friends while studying abroad. Its safer to travel in groups and knowing some friends ahead of time can make the adjustment away from home easier. It can often be more convenient to get to know a few people before leaving the United States than attempting to make a bunch of new friends while also adjusting to a new culture (READ: 6 Tips for Studying Abroad in Paris). 5. The fun stuff Study abroad students shouldnt forget about the fun stuff. Planning day trips or weekend adventures, hanging out at a local cafe, and exploring the many tourist sites is a huge part of an international study experience. Students should check out any local hot spots, cultural heritage sites, and potential excursions online before leaving on their trip. Planning is an important part of the study abroad experience (READ: Study Abroad: 6 Tips for Studying in Paris). 6. Academics Last, but certainly not least, are academics. Although it can be easy to forget about the units, a student will take while studying abroad, this is their main purpose for being there. Whether a student is studying English literature in London or French as a second language in Lyon, students will have to focus a large portion of their weekday on their textbooks and learning materials.
